The property, presently coming under the jurisdiction of the Taveuni Rural Local Authority, is designated for “SPECIAL USE (TOURISM)” purposes.
Situated on the lower slopes of the property, overlooking the Somosomo Straits, the resort has 14 stand-alone villas, two duplex villas, a third duplex currently used as a dorm, and the Treehouse, which is promoted on AirBnB.
The main resort building houses lounge, bar, dining, reception offices, kitchen, storage and bathroom facilities.
On the seaward side of the main resort building is a decent-sized swimming pool, two meters deep at one end, with surrounding decking and massage bure and more than 80 acres of fertile loamy freehold land. Other improvements include staff quarters, with kitchen, the resort laundry, ample storage, generator shed and sundry buildings.
Electricity is supplied from Maravu's onsite diesel generator. The balance of the land, with 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, awaits development.

Located about a thousand miles south of the Equator, pretty much on the 180 degree Meridian, the Garden Island of Taveuni is home to some 15,000 Fijians, being 30 miles long and up to 6 miles wide, rising to over 4,000 feet, and home to the unique mountain lake flower Tagimoucia, found nowhere else in the world.
The island is lush with tropical rainforest, tumbling waterfalls, the famous Waitavala natural rock-waterslide, and Bouma National Park.
To the east lie the islands of Qamea, Matagi and Laucala, home to the fabulous Laucala Island Resort, South-Seas retreat of Red-Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz.
Marvellous coral reefs, warm azure waters and abundant sealife make this South Pacific island enchanting.
Taveuni Island services include full banking from Bank of South Pacific, ATMs, Post office and satellite postal delivery boxes, Police HQ and outlying Police Posts, Hospital, Fire and emergency services, supermarkets, local tropical fruit and vegetable markets, taxis and transport operators.
Reticulated water is supplied to the property by The Water Authority of Fiji from its mountain sources.
Matei Airport, two miles from Maravu, is serviced by both Fiji Airways' Fiji Link, and Northern Air, with a number of daily flights from Nadi International Airport and Suva's Nausori Airport. The island is service by regular ferry services from Savusavu and Suva
