13400-13450 Anderson Valley Way
Following no preconceived master plan, the foundation for Stoney Bottom Gardens was laid almost two decades ago. It began with a 4-year, hand-on-shovel, property clearing, followed by another 2 years of infrastructure design and installation. The ensuing 12 years saw the 6-acre blank canvas transformed, through careful design and passionate execution, into a stunning botanical oasis with an extensive network of pathways connecting gardens and green spaces with the property’s three charming residences, offering lovely views no matter the season.
These three remodeled, beautifully appointed homes offer single-level living with a touch of Anderson Valley history. Each has been uniquely landscaped and positioned within the gardens to frame a different visual perspective.
The “Little” House (approx. 1,200 sq.ft.) : Currently the owner’s residence, this charming 2-bedroom/1 bath home features a living room and den; a country kitchen; and a breakfast area that opens onto a large, level, west-facing deck overlooking rolling lawns, a scene-stealing walnut tree and backed by a multi-level pavilion.
The Cottage (approx. 540 sq.ft.) : This former dance studio exudes a cheerful and welcoming feeling with vaulted ceilings; a fully-equipped kitchen with a small dining area; a bathroom with a stall shower; and generous sleeping and seating areas that open onto two private decks with views overlooking the lawn and ornamental glass stream.
The Annex (approx. 2,080 sq.ft.) : Formerly a church and the largest of the 3 residences. While the original exterior charm has been preserved, the interior was updated to offer a more contemporary feel . Divided into two living spaces, “The Suite” and “The Garden Room” each enjoy separate entrances while sharing a connecting interior door. The “Suite” (approx. 640 sq.ft.) has an efficiency kitchen; a bath with spa tub; a gas fireplace; vaulted ceilings; a dining and seating area; and access to the deck overlooking the garden. The “Garden Room” (approx. 1,440 sq.ft.) makes for a fabulous gathering area when connected to The Suite for both indoor and outdoor activities. As a separate unit, you’ll find an eclectic large open-concept layout with stunning stainless-steel kitchen with a large bar that’s perfect for entertaining; custom-made twin bed boxes; a bathroom; wood-burning stove; and sliding glass doors that open onto a 20 x 32’ deck overlooking the gardens. You couldn’t ask for a more ideal setting from which to enjoy one of Anderson Valley’s epic sunsets while dining al fresco.
