Robert Nederlander, a theater magnate and an interim boss of the New York Yankees in the 1990s, has listed his $13.5 million Hamptons mansion for sale.

Mr. Nederlander, 83, is listed as the owner of the  5,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom mansion in East Hampton, according to PropertyShark records.

He is best known as former president of his family’s theater conglomerate, which in New York includes the Palace Theatre (currently showing "Sunset Boulevard" starring Glenn Close) and the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway and in London, the Adelphi Theatre in the West End.

Yankees fans might also remember the lawyer-turned-Broadway-businessman from when he temporarily replaced George Steinbrenner in the early 1990s, gaining full control of the baseball team's operations.

The property on Long Island’s east end was built in 1985, according to the listing for the home, and is in a coveted East Hamptons location, sitting on two acres of land that opens into Georgica Pond. Other famous names who have homes surrounding the picturesque pond include Steven Spielberg and Martha Stewart.

Mr. Nederlander’s property, like others in the area favored by both celebrities and Wall Street types, is surrounded by trees to keep prying eyes from looking in.

Behind the trees, his estate is everything you might expect of a Hamptons mansion, with the listing showing a gunite rock swimming pool with a waterfall overlooking the pond with 3,500 square feet of decking and a cabana-tiki bar with hot tub.

There is also a sunken tennis court, a third-level observation deck, a finished basement, complete with sauna, and a two-car garage with a circular driveway. The house itself has large windows, giving it a light and airy feel.
