Tech entrepreneur and CEO Quentin P. Gallivan, who took the helm of video-conference software startup Blue Jeans Network, Inc. last August, has been busy making real estate moves lately.
Mr. Gallivan, 59, who had previously served as CEO for four other tech companies, bought a bigger house in San Francisco and listed the one just a block away, which he called home for 15 years, for $13.5 million.
The 6,400-square-foot house for sale, located on Green Street bordering the Pacific Heights and Cow Hollow neighborhoods in San Francisco, has seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, two family rooms, a wine cellar, a laundry room, a two-car garage and a garden, according to the listing with Nina Hatvany of Pacific Union International posted earlier this week.

Mr. Gallivan bought the house in 2002 for $7.2 million, per property records.
"We fell in love with the house the moment we saw it, the house had everything we were looking for," Mr. Gallivan said in an email interview.
He said he could drive to work in downtown San Francisco in 10 minutes.
"On Friday nights, my wife and I would walk a couple of blocks to Chestnut Street and enjoy incredible restaurants and a buzzing social scene," he said. "On weekends, we would walk down to Crissy Field and the local beach to take in the beautiful San Francisco harbor views and fun in the sun activities," he said.
Crissy Field, also known as Presidio of San Francisco, is an U.S. National Park offering many hiking and biking trails, Ms. Hatvany said.
It also is close to some of the best private schools in the city, said Mr. Gallivan, a father of three.

While at home, Mr. Gallivan enjoyed looking out at the San Francisco Bay, watching container ships entering the bay under the Golden Gate Bridge and the wind surfers glide across the water, he said.
During the annual Fleet Week in San Francisco in the fall, the family would watch the blue angel daredevil flying squad fly over their house and perform thrilling stunts. Also, "we had a front-row seat from our family room watching world class boats and crew compete for the fastest sailboat in the world" during the America's Cup, Mr. Gallivan remembered.
"It’s an attractive house on a great block with unusual features and amenities," said listing agent Ms. Hatvany.
