The traditional Swiss chalet, made from wood and stone, spans almost 3,000 square feet and has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, wood panelling, beamed ceilings, a fireplace and a rustic wooden staircase, according to the auction house’s listing.

The home also has mountain views, a terrace and outdoor dining area, a finished attic and a three-car garage.

Mansion Global could not determine the owner of the home or when it was first listed.

Switzerland has strict regulations about the purchase of properties by foreigners, but, according to the listing, this particular chalet isn’t subject to the usual Swiss residency restrictions around property acquisition. So, "this auction offers the rare opportunity for an international buyer to purchase a home in Switzerland," said Charlie Smith, European adviser for Concierge Auctions, ina news release.

Verbier, two hours from Geneva and three hours south of Zurich, is a popular ski and snowboarding destination.

Mr. Smith added that the home could also serve as a vacation rental.
