More than one-third of the 15 most expensive ZIP Codes in the U.S. are in California, according to an annual Forbes ranking released this week. Comparatively, last year,New York and Florida dominated the list.

This year, the Forbes list wasbased on price data for more than 28,500 ZIPs covering 95% of the U.S. population.

Mansion Global combed the available listings in those areas and picked six luxurious homes in the top three most expensive ZIP Codes, as identified by Forbes.

No. 1: 94027-Atherton, California

Median Price: $9,686,154 Situated next to Palo Alto and Menlo Park, the affluent Silicon Valley town is a short drive fromFacebook's headquarters and home to many tech executives. It sat at the top of the Forbes priciest ZIP Code list for three consecutive years, from 2013 to 2015, but fell to third place last year. Now, it’s back.

Listing Price: $18.75 million

Located on South Florida’s legendary Gold Coast, the town took the first spot on Forbes' 2016 list of America's Most Expensive ZIP Codes. It attracts home buyers with its white sand beaches, shimmering intracoastal waterway and the panoramic view encompassing every stretch of the lush barrier island.

Tucked within a group of small rolling hills, the aptly named Los Altos Hills is a residential community in Santa Clara County, considered a bedroom community to the nearby town of Los Altos (which happens to be just over five miles from Palo Alto). It ranked No. 8 on the 2016 list.

The property has a 20,400-square-foot, five-bedroom, seven-bathroom main residence and guest suites with their own patios and en-suite baths, according to the listing. The massive mansion first hit the market in late 2015 for $88 million, and after languishing for more than one year, the listing price was dropped $20 million in May this year. But it’s still the highest priced home in Los Altos Hills.
