If Christian Grey, of "50 Shades of Grey" fame, wasn’t a fictional character, the billionaire Seattle native would probably live in this penthouse.

While the trilogy’s author, E. L. James, has said she modeled Mr. Grey’s sleek high-end penthouse on one in Seattle’s Escala building, which later sold for $8 million, she might have had a change of heart if this 5,700-square-foot duplex penthouse had been available at the time.

The property last sold for $5.6 million in 2005 and its current owner hired Seattle-based designer Gregory Carmichael and architect Rick Sundberg to remodel it, using various hard-to-find hardwoods, artisan metals and natural stone surfaces, according to listing agent Moira E. Holley of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty.

Ms. Holley did not reveal the name of the unit’s current owner, but told Mansion Global that he previously worked in the tech sector and has since retired.

Features of the remodeled penthouse include a modern metal staircase, a massage room, a theater room, bar and three terraces, according to the listing.

As for location, it’s located in the 24-story Bay Vista Tower in downtown Seattle, and the building’s amenities include a 24-hour doorman, a pool, a gym, a spa, a running track, a tennis court a garden and a garage.
