Rumors continue to swirl that the San Diego Chargers may be moving to Los Angeles, but that has not stopped tight end Antonio Gates from relisting his Hollywood Hills home with a nearly $500,000 discount.

The 36-year-old football star is now asking $2.5 million for his contemporary Hollywood Hills home, according to co-listing agent Jeff S. Katz of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties. This is down from just under $3 million when it was first listed in July.

Despite the price cut, the veteran athlete will still turn a decent profit if his new asking price is met. Property records show that he and his wife, Sasha Gates (one of the stars of E’s "WAGS" which follows the lives of professional athletes’ wives and girlfriends), paid $1.66 million for it back in 2014.

Since then they have made some renovations to the five-bedroom, four-and-a-half bath property, which is located on a private road and has 4,400 square feet of living space, according to the agent.

The newly improved home features a spacious living room that opens up to the chef’s kitchen and backyard; there is also an elevator and an additional room that could be turned into another bedroom or an office.  Outside, there is a newly finished tiled swimming pool, a jacuzzi and firepit.

This is not the couple’s main home, though. They live in a 6,800-square-foot property in San Diego’s Poway neighborhood with their 2-year-old daughter, Ayla, and 1-year-old son, Aven, according to Mr. Katz.

But they’re not necessarily abandoning L.A. all together.

"They might buy another L.A.-area home if the Chargers relocate to Los Angeles or if E! orders a third season of "WAGS," Mr. Katz said..

A spokesperson for Mr. Gates did not respond immediately to request for comment.
