The penthouse perched atop the Beekman Hotel & Residences, a 51-story, 600-foot tower in Manhattan’s Financial District, hit the market for $12.995 million Friday.
Occupying the entire top floor, the penthouse has 3,554 square feet of interior space and a 155-square-foot terrace with views of the East and Hudson rivers, as well as Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines.
The residence has three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, a dining room that seats 20 people, and an eat-in kitchen with a waterfall island and a coffee machine built in the wall.

The most striking feature of the home is its 50-feet-long living room, according to John Gomes of Douglas Elliman, whose team is handling the sales in the building.
"The living room looks like a rectangular box, featuring 16-feet ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass walls, and a fireplace encased in marble mantel," he said.
Custom designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen, the penthouse has many finishes that reference the history of the Beekman Hotel, said Stan Spiegelman, vice president of GFI Development, which developed the building with GB Lodging.
"We married the history and architecture of the hotel with Juul-Hansen’s modern aesthetics in a thoughtful way to create this timeless masterpiece," Mr. Spiegelman said.
The Beekman Hotel was built in 1881 on the site of an old theater, which saw the New York debut of Shakespeare’s "Hamlet" in 1871. The terracotta, red-brick Queen Anne building became office spaces in the 1940s until it was closed in 2001.
The building remained vacant for the following decade. In 2012, GFI Development bought the adjacent lot. Restoration and new construction of the Beekman Hotel & Residences began one year later.
The Beekman Hotel reopened in 2016 and immediately became a hit, partly thanks to the revival of the World Trade Center area.
Sales of the 67 residences, located on the 17th to 51st floors of the new glass tower, began in 2015. It’s currently 85% sold, according to Mr. Spiegelman.
Residents in the building have access to amenities on the 11th floor, including a media room, a private dining room with chef’s table, and an outdoor terrace. They also have access to a slew of luxury hotel services, including the famed nine-story atrium with bar and lounge, restaurants overseen by Tom Colicchio and Keith McNally, concierge and room services.
