The mystery buyer of a penthouse at Manhattan’s Mandarin Oriental has scored themselves an impressive $11 million discount, although the purchase still set them back almost $40 million.

A buyer listed on property records only as 80CC77B, INC. bought Penthouse 77B at the Mandarin Oriental’s private residences at 80 Columbus Circle on Manhattan’s Upper West Side for $38.9 million.

The seller of the 4,825-square-foot, four-bedroom penthouse, which has impressive views over Central Park, was also mysterious, calling themselves Red Cherry Worldwide Inc., according to property records.

Red Cherry paid $17.259 million for it in 2006 and tried to sell it in 2010 for $35.5 million, only to remove it from the market and re-list it in June 2015 for $50 million.

The penthouse has a formal dining room with an adjacent large top-of-the-line eat-in kitchen, a 41-foot master bedroom located directly on Central Park and three other en-suite bedrooms, according to the listing.

Residents of the building’s private condos atop the Mandarin Oriental have access to all hotel amenities, including housekeeping, spa treatments, a fitness center, a 75-foot indoor infinity pool and valet service.
