Atherton, which has the highest median house price in the U.S. as of 2017, is an increasingly popular destination for tech giants in Silicon Valley.
Located just north of Stanford University’s campus—in the heart of the exclusive Menlo Circus Club neighborhood— the home features walnut floors, blackened stainless steel and Tesla-powered interior walls, which, paired with the mansion’s solar panels, serve as a primary power source of the home, according to the listing with Keller Williams Palo Alto.

The wall batteries store energy during the day and undergo power cycling at times of peak usage.
Built this year, the seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom estate boasts a variety of amenities: a library, wine cellar, elevator, theater, fitness center, steam room, spa, and pool. The property was sold by the Helen Smogranoff trust to Owen Signature Homes, a premium custom home builder in 2015 for $10.5 million, according to PropertyShark records.
After a massive expansion and renovation of the property into a 13,000-square-foot mansion, Owen Signature Homes took full advantage of the one-acre plot of land and listed the property at three times what they paid.
