Casa Finisterra, the Mexican residence that was home to the late songwriter and record producer Luigi Creatore and his wife, Claire, will be hitting the market soon with an asking price of $10 million, Mansion Global has learned.

The listing will mark the first time the house, in Cabo San Lucas, has ever been on the market, according to a representative for The Agency, the brokerage handling the sale.

"The house took about two-and-a-half years to design and build," architect Steven Harris said in an email to Mansion Global. "The owners, with whom we had worked on other houses for 15 years when we started the project, wanted a retreat to escape to from New York in the winter. They wanted something exceptionally tranquil and truly a part of the extraordinary landscape."

Built in 2001, and perched above the Pacific Ocean on the southernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula, Casa Finisterra spans 7,500 square feet and is designed to optimize sunlight, views and open-air living.

"The most challenging aspect of the construction was building on a cliff while preserving the natural rock," Mr. Harris said. "The house was literally built around and into the native stone."

Made of reinforced concrete and high-strength laminated glass, the house is split into two wings and has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a media room, a gym and a pool.

"There are no other homes of this architectural pedigree in the Cabo area," said The Agency’s Jeff Kohl, who shares the listing with his colleague Billy Rose.

Mrs. Creatore is selling the house as she no longer uses the house as frequently as she once did with her husband and "feels it’s far too special to be used only once a year," Mr. Kohl said. She could not be reached for comment.

Luigi Creatore, along with his cousin Hugo Peretti, created hits for Elvis Presley, Sam Cooke, Perry Como and others. He died in 2015 aged 93.
