A mini version of the iconic Trump Turnberry resort in Scotland, about 125 miles northeast of the posh golf club, is on the market for sale for £1.2 million (US$1.554 million).

The luxury hotel, built in 1906, is one of Scotland’s most recognizable resorts, which President Donald Trump bought and branded in 2014 for £60 million (US$77.7 million). Its for-sale residential lookalike in Ayrshire, called Coupar Grange, predates the hotel by a few years but carries much of the same style, according to the listing with Savills.

Scottish architect James Miller designed both buildings at the beginning of the 20th century, the hotel being one of his most notable buildings, in the English Jacobean style.

From outside, Coupar Grange looks like a slice of the longer Turnberry hotel. The buildings share the same steep, red-tiled roof, white, harled facade and detailed ornamentation on the interior.

The main house has an oak-paneled hallway with a sweeping staircase similar to the central staircase at Turnberry’s clubhouse. The living room and dining room have intricately moulded ceilings with decorative finials.

There’s also a glass-lined, Edwardian-style conservatory, or sunroom, with a marble tile floor and slate shelves on one wing of the main house.

Owners over the past 100-plus years have kept the historic country home and its coach house in their original form, with the exception of a billiards room added onto the main house in 2001, according to the listing.

The seven-bedroom house sits on 34 acres near the town of Blairgowrie. The estate includes a two-bedroom cottage, stables and a garage.

The home has also undergone a slew of modern upgrades, according to the listing agency.

"The sellers have carried out extensive renovation works over the past 20 years," according to Savills. "These include rewiring, re-plumbing and upgrading of the central heating system, upgrading the kitchen and bathroom fittings, re-tiling of roof and redecoration."

The sellers will even negotiate throwing the billiards table and some window fittings into the sale.

While it may not be Turnberry, the resort’s doppelgänger is not out of reach of golf facilities. Nearby Blairgowrie Golf Club has two championship courses.
