Miami Beach Spec House Lists for $38 Million

The seven-bedroom home is on La Gorce Island

A Miami Beach spec mansion that hit the marketWednesday for $38 million is now the city’s fourth most expensive property for sale, according to listing records.

The home, built in 2017, is on the affluent La Gorce Island, which has previously been home to Billy Joel, rapper Lil Wayne and U.K. billionaire Mike Ashley.

The 23,000-square-foot lot was purchased in 2014 for $14 million, according to property records. The buyer was 34 La Gorce Circle Partners, a company controlled by developer Thomas Danluck, records with PropertyShark show. The sale reportedly set a Miami-Dade County record for price per square foot at the time. Mansion Global could not independently confirm this.

The property that was formerly on the parcel was replaced with this one, which spans 11,000 square feet with seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and a meditation garden, according to the listing with The Jills, a Coldwell Banker team headed by Jill Hertzberg and Jill Eber.

"This newly built estate is an embodiment of the best craftsmanship, incredible design,spectacular views, and the absolute pinnacle of waterfront luxury," Ms. Hertzberg said in a news release.

The estate also has a wine room with space for more than 200 bottles, a six-seat movie theater, an infinity pool, staff quarters, glass balconies, a roof terrace, an outdoor kitchen and a dock.
