Living in One of England’s Market Towns Carries a £30,000 Premium Living in an English market town costs an average of £30,788 (US$40,000) more than buying in a surrounding area, according to a report from Lloyds Bank. Prices in market towns have grown by an average of 21% in the last five years, up to an average of £280,690 (US$370,000). The 10 most expensive market towns are all in South East England, with Beaconsfield topping the list at an average house price of £1,059,659 (US$1.4 million). PropertyWire

Home Price Growth in Chinese Cities Continued to Stagnate in September Only 44 out of 70 Chinese cities registered month-to-month home price increases in September (compared to 46 the previous month), marking the sixth consecutive month of slowing prices in China. And 18 cities saw month-to-month price declines in the same period, with all 15 major cities studied by the National Bureau of Statistics showing prices either declining or staying flat. Luxury Home Sales in Chicago’s Metropolitan Area Increased in Q3 The number of luxury home sales in the metropolitan Chicago area were 1.8% higher during the third quarter of 2017 than the same period last year, totaling 741 units. The median sales price of a luxury home was $1.31 million down 1.7% from a year earlier, while the inventory of homes priced at $1 million or more, the threshold for luxury, was 5% lower at the end of September than it was 12 months earlier, according to the RE/MAX Luxury Report on Metro Chicago Real Estate. Over the first nine months of this year, luxury home sales in the Chicago metropolitan area increased 10% from the same period last year with 2,095 properties changing hands. Cision
