The property traded hands for the first time in decades in 2013, when it sold for $13 million. It’s not clear how much work had been put into the property to warrant a threefold price jump only four years later.

Richard and Laurie Lynn Stark, the founders of high-end jewelry brand Chrome Hearts, have shelled out $38.5 million for a beachfront Malibu home on 2.8 acres.

The couple, who run the gothic silver jewelry and apparel brand known for celebrity collaborations with the likes of Gigi Hadid, Rick Owens and tennis player Stan Smith, closed on the beach bluff compound in Paradise Cove last month, according to property records. They bought the home through a private company linked to their trust.

The multi-building property was sold in an off-market deal, so there are few details available about the home. Property records show the main house was built in 1946 and has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and around 2,500 square feet. There’s a trellised patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean and a front deck with "unbelievable views," according to a previous listing for the estate, which brokers marketed at the time as a development opportunity.

A second cottage on the property has two kitchens, three additional bedrooms. There’s also a storage shed on the property, a lawn, playground and mature landscaping, according to the old listing.
