A prime London penthouse that can claim ties to rock 'n' roll and movie history is back on the market with a £3.55 million (US$4.685 million) price cut—a sign that even pedigreed properties are struggling in the city’s soft luxury market.

The lavish, four-bedroom apartment sits at the top of a historic building in Mayfair that encompasses Curzon Cinema, a theater founded in 1934 that is still a regular venue for star-studded movie premieres. The four-bedroom duplex also played host to celebrities as the former home of British rock star Dave Clark of the Dave Clark Five, according to brokerages Savills and Knight Frank, which are co-listing the property.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, whose band battled it out with the Beatles on the singles charts in the 1960s with hits like "Over and Over" and "Glad All Over," entertained a number of fellow musicians at his former home, including Freddie Mercury of Queen and singer-songwriter Leo Sayer, according to the listing agents.

But the celebrity pedigree hasn’t made the Curzon penthouse an exception in the city’s struggling luxury market. The apartment came up for sale in 2015 for £15.5 million (US$20.457 million), and has now been relisted for £11.95 million (US$15.771 million)—a 23% price reduction.

Mr. Clark, now in his 70s, no longer owns the apartment and it’s not clear who the current owner is.

The home spans nearly 3,500 square feet on the sixth and seventh floors of the Grade II building. The large, open floor plan encompasses a reception, dining and kitchen area. There are also heated floors, marble bathrooms and a wraparound terrace that adds another 1,316 square feet, according to the listing.

Floor-to-ceiling windows look out over an iconic stretch of Westminster that includes Big Ben and Parliament.
