A traditional mews house converted into a modern homestead has been listed in the posh London neighborhood of Belgravia for £6.85 million (US$9.3 million).
Located on Kinnerton Street, the home is in an area known for mews houses. In the 18th and 19th centuries, London’s mews used to house horses on the lower level and have living quarters for servants above.
This four-bedroom, four-bathroom mews house, which hit the market in mid-April, has had a luxurious update. Its kitchen features finishings by contemporary designer Modulnova and bespoke cabinetry. There is also a drawing room, formal reception room and dining room.

At more than 2,800 square feet, the house also includes two terraces, a patio, a utility room and staff quarters according to the listing.
"Whilst it offers all the requirements for modern living inside, its exterior remains traditional, with symmetrical design and pointed brickwork," Richard Barber, director at JLL, the real estate agency listing the property, said in a statement.
The former stable alsohas a large garage, a rarity in London.

The house is located between the Knightsbridge and Hyde Park Corner Underground stations, for those who prefer public transportation. It's a five-minute walk from Hyde Park, and a 10-minute walk from the heart of Knightsbridge’s tony shopping district, which is home to Harrods and Harvey Nichols department stores.
