A nine-bedroom 10-bathroom Beverly Hills home with a rich history of owners from the Hollywood elite has returned to the market for $22.8 million.

The 15,500-square-foot home was originally listed for $28 million and then went down to $25.5 million, before settling at its current price.

"It is really an entertainer’s dream," said The Agency’s Stacy Gottula,  listing agent for the property.  "There’s a tennis court, a putting green, an antique bowling alley, billiards, a small beautiful pool, a sport court, and gym. It really has all the features that a sports buff would love in a house."

Today’s building codes would make it impossible to design this type of complex, with its two full homes, according to Ms. Gottula.

The home was built in 1941 for Bert Lehr, the actor who is famous for playing the Cowardly Lion in "The Wizard of Oz," according to Ms. Gottula. It was built by Los Angeles architect Paul Williams, who also designed homes for Lucille Ball and Frank Sinatra.

The property, which also has a two-bedroom guesthouse with a sauna and a separate garage, is extremely party friendly. As a result, said Ms. Gottula, "the house gets rented at a high rental price to a lot of celebrity clientele, and a lot of musicians."

As a rental property, the house has brought in $100,000 a month during the year, and up to $150,000 a month in the summer months, according to Ms. Gottula.

Some famous former owners, according to Ms. Gottula, include Don Johnson, Melanie Griffith and Betty Grable. Ms. Gottula also said that the Osbournes also have rented the property.

In addition to the outdoor features, the interiors were redone seven years ago. The interior was created by a designer from Ralph Lauren, according to Williams & Williams, the other broker for the home. The rooms display his signature neutral classic tones, animal prints, and lush textures. The living room has a chandelier made completely from blown glass. There’s also a full bar and screening room. The exterior of the property also includes an outdoor entertaining space, a fountain, and koi pond and private gazebo.
