The largest penthouse at the top of New York by Gehry, a rippled, stainless-steel tower and one of the tallest residential buildings in the Western Hemisphere, is back on the market for $40,000 a month, Mansion Global has learned.

The four-bedroom unit teetering on the top floor of the 76-story, Frank Gehry-designed building in the Financial District was previously home to retired Russian-American NBA player Andrei Kirilenko.

With 10-foot ceilings and around 3,800 square feet of space, there was plenty of room for the 6-foot-9 basketball player, who lived there while playing for the Brooklyn Nets—Bruce Ratner, whose company Forest City Ratner owns the luxury rental tower, located at 8 Spruce St, also previously owned the Nets.

Most recently, a bigwig at Tommy Hilfiger lived in the unit, said Susi Yu, executive vice president of development at Forest City Ratner Companies, though she declined to identify him by name.

The unit has four bedrooms with one convertible into a library and three-and-a-half bathrooms.

The iconic "undulating waves" in the building’s design are the most articulated here permeating the layout of the interiors, she said.

"You have windows that are six feet wide or eight feet wide that are moving in and out within the living room," Ms. Yu said. "It’s not a flat view."

The apartment also has a bar area with its own sink, enough room in the kitchen for a breakfast nook and sweeping views over Manhattan.

Ms. Yu said her favorite part of the home is a private, window-lined sitting area off of the master bedroom that looks directly at the World Trade Center.

"It could be your study or the place where you put on makeup," she said.

Building amenities also include a fitness center, an indoor swimming pool and an outdoor dining and grilling area.
