Steve Hafner, chief executive of Kayak Software Corp., which owns the popular travel site Kayak.com, has been busy making real estate moves lately. His latest is putting his Manhattan duplex apartment on the market for $28 million.

Mr. Hafner, 48, purchased a $21 million penthouse in Miami Beach a month ago.

He’d purchased the 4,871-square-foot residence at Walker Tower, a boutique luxury condominium in the Chelsea neighborhood, for $24 million in August 2016, public records show.

Occupying half of the 18th floor at the 24-story tower, the New York City apartment has four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, an eat-in kitchen, a separate dining room and two outdoor terraces, according to the listing with Vicky Barron of the Corcoran Group.

"This duplex with triple exposures feels like a townhouse in the sky," Ms. Barron told Mansion Global. "It was created in collaboration with the developers early on."

The apartment features radiant floor heating, hand-laid French herringbone oak flooring, marble and limestone countertops, as well as smart security and air conditioning systems.

The 1929 Art Deco-style tower was designed by and named after famed architect Ralph Thomas Walker, who was also behind One Wall Street and the Barclay-Vesey Telephone Building (now the Verizon building), among other Manhattan masterpieces. JDS Development Group and Property Markets Group converted Walker Tower into a 50-residence condo in 2012.

Building amenities include a 24-hour doorman, concierge, residents’ lounge, playroom, storage, gym, sauna and a roof deck.

Just last month, Mr. Hafner, who didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment, bought a penthouse at L’Atelier, a new Miami Beach condo slated for completion in the third quarter of 2018. The unit will have 8,000 square feet of interior space, 8,500 square feet of exterior space, and a pool.

Additionally, he already has a home in Florida, and another large home in Norwalk, Connecticut, close to the headquarters of Kayak. He’s spending less time in New York, which is why he’s selling the Manhattan apartment, Ms. Barron said.
