Jim Parsons is hoping to sell his Los Feliz, California, mansion with a bang—asking $8.95 million, which is $2.6 million more than what he paid for it in 2014.
The property has a star-studded Hollywood history, with actor Robert Pattinson, Academy Award-winning cinematographer Robert Richardson, and NBA Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as previous owners, according to both property and listing records.
Mr. Parsons, 45, the star of the hugely popular U.S. television series "The Big Bang Theory," moved into the home with his then-partner and now-husband, Todd Spiewak, and their two dogs in 2014, according to The Wall Street Journal.

In 2017, Forbes reported that Mr. Parsons was TV’s highest paid actor, netting $27.5 million that year—an impressive $1 million per episode. A representative for Mr. Parsons declined to comment on the home’s entrance onto the market two weeks ago.
Built in 1922, the Spanish-style mansion offers 4,000-square-feet of livable space. Architect Stiles O. Clements, known for his Spanish Colonial Revival and Moorish Revival styles, designed the home.
Perhaps most notably, Clements designed the El Capitan theater on Hollywood Boulevard. Mr. Parsons contracted Steven Johanknecht, a painter and co-founder of L.A. design firm Commune, to enhance the home’s decor while maintaining its original form.
"I always look at it as a journey, how the space unfolds," the actor told The Wall Street Journal in 2016 about his design process, matching a room’s art and design to its flow and function.

The home’s unique U-shaped structure allows for a light-flooded interior. Its ornate light fixtures, hand-painted ceilings, and panoramic hillside landscapes provide exceptional luxury to a historic property. Once featured in Anthony Iannacci’s book "Hollywood Interiors: Style and Design in Los Angeles," the home offers a lagoon-style swimming pool that winds through a fountain and spills into a koi pond.
The agent for the property, David Gray with Partners Trust Beverly Hills, declined to comment on the listing.
The coveted Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz sits just east of Beverly Hills and borders Griffith Park.
