Jane Fonda has put her Beverly Hills mansion on the market for $12.995 million.

The listing price for the modernist mansion is around $7 million more than the 79-year-old actress, whose most famous movies include "Barbarella" and "They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?" and her partner, record producer Richard Perry, paid for it in 2012, according to property records.

"Richard and I must have looked at more than 30 houses, and the day we pulled in through the gate … I took one look at this house and I knew," Ms. Fonda said of finding the property in a video.  "I just knew!…This was the place where we could live very happily".

"The style, the line, was very important to me," the political activist said in a statement. "It has really good strong architectural lines… This place has taste! …This is the first time in my 79 years that I have had a closet that you could walk in and see everything that you have!"

Located in the coveted Trousdale Estates neighborhood of Beverly Hills, the 7,100-square-foot, two-story property boasts six bedrooms, five bathrooms and impressive canyon and ocean views.

Other features of the main house include a large walk-in closet, media room, a gym (where the fitness guru no doubt worked out often), a home office, which she describes as a "cave," as well as a glass elevator.

The property is on a 36,000-square-foot lot, which includes covered and open patios, a pool, a pavilion with fire pit, and a meditation garden with fountain.

The eco-conscious estate also comes with photovoltaic electric panels, a solar heated pool, thermal glass double glazed UV windows with motorized shades, and bamboo floors. After all, you would expect nothing less from an environmental activist.

Ms. Fonda added that the house is perfect for parties and was the site of her 75th birthday party, where she hosted 150 guests.

The two-time Academy Award winner is currently starring in Netflix’s "Grace and Frankie," which also stars Lily Tomlin and Martin Sheen about two women whose husbands leave them for each other. Her partner, Mr. Perry, has worked with the likes of Tina Turner and Ringo Starr.
