"Iron Chef" Marc Forgione and wife, Kristen Angelilli, have snapped up a Manhattan apartment for $2 million.

The tough-guy Food Network star closed on the spacious two-bedroom, second-floor unit in West Chelsea earlier this month, according to property records. The seller was William Scott Atkinson.

Mr. Forgione, 38, has an eponymous farm-to-table restaurant in Tribeca, and has co-opened Laotian restaurant Khe-Yo, also in Tribeca, and fine-dining steakhouse American Cut.

Fittingly, Mr. Forgione’s new digs are directly above a highly rated bistro, The Red Cat, and just a few blocks from Chelsea Market, where the Food Network films the "Iron Chef" cooking competitions. It’s one of only two units in the building, according to the listing with HomeDax Real Estate, which did not immediately return a request for comment.

The back of the apartment abuts the coveted High Line public park and includes a generous, 675-square-foot outdoor terrace off of the main living area, according to the listing. The apartment also has 10-foot ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace and a bathroom outfitted with Carrera marble.

Legally, the unit can also be expanded an extra 375-square-feet into the back terrace for extra space and increased resale value, according to the listing.

Mr. Forgione got a nice discount of about 17% on the apartment, which originally hit the market a year ago for $2.4 million, listing records show.

The chef could not immediately be reached for comment.
