This home is for those who like to swim, sail and kayak — Manly Beach is just a paddle around the corner — or those who prefer to watch it all from the bathtub, a cold glass of Chardonnay in hand.

Set in the suburb of Mosman, this modern, glass-fronted home has direct access to Pearl Bay, and is designed so that every room has spectacular views, from Middle Harbour to Seaforth.

The seller — Hamish McLennan — knows a thing or two about what makes a home desirable, too. He currently serves as chairman of the Australian property website realestate.com.au. (News Corp., owner of Mansion Global, is a majority owner in REA Group, which owns and operates realestate.com.au.)

Mr. McLennan and his wife, Lucinda, who runs lifestyle website Go Crave Rave, have lived in the home for eight years, along with their two children and Labrador. The couple is selling the home because they’re upsizing to a five-bedroom Victorian house in Lavender Bay.

The Stats

The 6,803-square-foot home has three bedrooms and three full bathrooms, in addition to a two-car garage, off-street parking, security gates and an intercom system. The media room can be used as a fourth bedroom, if needed.

Design Pedigree

The home’s designer, Sandberg Schoffel Architects, describes it as a “luxurious modern courtyard house.” The home boasts floor-to-ceiling glass walls that open to terraces with ocean views.

Landscape designer Joanne Green cultivated the lush, subtropical gardens, which make use of Frangipani and Little Gem Magnolia trees to protect the property from prying eyes.

Amenities

The outdoor entertaining area has a built-in barbecue and a retractable roof to shield guests from the lunchtime sun. The heated mosaic-tiled swimming pool has views of Pearl Bay, as do all of the open-plan living spaces, including the soaking tub in the master bathroom.

There’s also a media room and a home office — if you can get any work done while gazing out the window, that is.

Neighborhood Notes

Mosman has an upmarket, village-like vibe. It’s rife with harborside restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops and delis, as well as rowing and yacht clubs. East Mosman is home to Sydney Harbour National Park and Taronga Zoo.
