An East Hampton, New York, property that’s more than a century old has hit the market for $4.95 million.

Set back behind a white picket fence and in the heart of the exclusive Long Island beach town’s historic district, three separate residences—one in a converted 19th icehouse—dot one-and-a-half acres of well-manicured lawns, according to the Halstead listing, posted earlier this week.

"We’ve really worked to give it a very magical feel," said Leslie Hillel, the owner and listing agent. "Each home has its own charm—it’s my favorite place we’ve ever lived."

Ms. Hillel and her husband bought the property in 1994 for $625,000. The couple lived in the main house, a three-story, four-bedroom-suite Victorian farmhouse that was built in 1885. It’s known as the "Frank Cartwright house," named for its original owner.

The 132-year-old main house includes a number of original features, like its staircase, wood-burning fireplace in the first-floor parlor and much of its pine wood floors. The first-floor master suite has cathedral ceilings and French doors that open to a brick patio and garden.

Cartwright, the property’s original owner, worked as an iceman in the late 1800s, Ms. Hillel said. The one-floor dwelling includes a modernized kitchen, vaulted ceilings, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and its own brick patio.

Beyond the icehouse is guest cottage B, a house built in 1908 by Cartwright’s daughter, Ms. Hillel said. The cozy two-bedroom, two bathroom residence also has its own separate patio with French doors.

Past the houses is a sprawling open lawn space, once a flaxseed farm, that Ms. Hillel said could be great for a pool if the next owners wanted to install one.

Ms. Hillel and her husband rented the other dwellings, and created a series of hedges and plantings to give each home a private feel. But, she said, she could also see the property, which sits about a mile from the town’s famed beaches, used as a family compound.

"We’ve put a lot of love and care into this property, and it’s been a great place for our children and grandchildren, but we’re ready to move on—we don’t need such a big house anymore," Ms. Hillel said. "It’s hard for us to leave, but we like to think it’s another family’s turn to enjoy this property."
