A Grade-II* listed manor house in the English countryside with interiors that are far more contemporary than you’d expect to see in a historic home, is on the market for £3.25 million (US$4.2 million).

Known as Hill Top Hall, the five-bedroom house—near Harrogate in North Yorkshire, England—sits on more than 10 acres in a designated "special landscape area." The term refers to areas of land that are protected from development or other man-made influences. It hit the market July 5, according to listing records.

The interiors of the 5,005-square-foot home are "finished to an exceptionally high standard throughout and it is clear that no expense has been spared," said Tony Wright, partner of residential sales at listing agents Carter Jonas, in a statement to Mansion Global.

"The contemporary design complements the retained character features that exist within the building, including an inglenook fireplace in the dining room and exposed beams in the master bedroom," Mr. Wright said.

Mansion Global could not determine the owners of the home.

The house also has a reception room, a drawing room and a day room with access to a courtyard garden.

Outside there’s a swimming pool overlooked by a pavilion that could be utilized as a home office and a garage with an adjoining greenhouse.

Views from Hill Top Hall extend across the countryside and toward local landmark Almscliffe Crag.
