A historic estate in the Hamptons listed Wednesday with an asking price of $18 million.

The turn-of-the-century estate, set on three acres on Coopers Neck Lane in Southampton, was built in 1910 by architect Grosvenor Atterbury.

Atterbury is best known for building lavish East Coast estates and for being the designer behind Forest Hills Gardens—, an upscale enclave in Queens, New York.

The home was last sold in 2015 for $15 million, significantly less than the almost $18 million it was asking at the time, according to listing records. It had previously asked $20 million in 2014. It was snapped up by Michael Bruno, founder of online art and antiques retailer 1stdibs, property records show. Mr. Bruno is known for owning and restoring many homes built by renowned architects, including a William Templeton Johnson home in La Jolla, California; a Willis Polk in San Francisco; and a John Russell Pope in Tuxedo Park, New York, Mansion Global previously reported.

The house is ready for a complete renovation, according to the listing with Zachary and Cody Vichinsky of Bespoke Real Estate, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"The current owner has painstakingly cleared the entire interior canvas and commissioned meticulous plans by renowned architect Arthur Fraser, portraying what a complete renovation would look like," reads the listing.

The plans would expand the square footage from more than 14,000 square feet to over 15,100 square feet with 10 bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms, three half bathrooms and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Plans are also in place for a new pool pavilion with a pool house, a tennis court and a two-story, three-car garage.

Mr. Bruno’s company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
