The former world No. 1 professional golfer Luke Donald and his wife, Diane, are getting ready to part with their Northfield, Illinois, mansion, asking $4.5 million for it.
The English golfer’s six-bedroom home will be hitting the market in the next week or so, according to listing broker Lindy Goss with Baird & Warner, an affiliate of Luxury Portfolio International, who described the property as an "amazing offering."

Property records show that Mr. Donald, 40, bought the home in 2008 for $3.725 million.
"They changed the overall aesthetic of the home," Ms. Goss told Mansion Global, "and it ended up just stunning."
The couple completely renovated the kitchen, redid the master suite and updated the wine cellar, Ms. Goss said.
In the basement, they added a gym and a club-like area with a bar, entertainment area and billiards table. Another addition, unsurprisingly, was the a high-tech golf simulation room, suitable for Mr. Donald to practice in over winter.

"It’s very contemporary," Ms. Goss said, "they took a strong hand in the design, it’s very reflective of who they are."
Mr. Donald’s English heritage for one is reflected in the large Union Jack rug lining the floor of his office.
The family is moving because the house "doesn’t fit their lifestyle any longer," Ms. Goss said, adding that they spend most of their time in Florida.
Mr. Donald has spent a cumulative total of 56 weeks as the World No. 1 and over 200 weeks in the top 10.
He could not immediately be reached for comment.
