A former radio executive listed his $22.5 million Miami Beach mansion Tuesday, and its backyard is the Atlantic Ocean.

The latter is a rarity, according to listing agent Kathleen McManamon of Calibre International Realty. "There's tons of condos on the beach, bajillions of condos on the beach," but "literally there's only two blocks," where you can have a single-family home right on Miami Beach, she said.

The two blocks, between 77th and 79th streets, are home to Altos del Mar, a gated community that is "kind of a little secret," Ms. McManamon said. It’s also the highest point on Miami Beach.

The house is newly built, having been constructed around 14 months ago by Farid Suleman, the former chairman and CEO of Citadel Broadcasting and his wife, Jennifer. The pair bought the property in 2012 for $3.425 million, property records show, and razed the previous home, a smaller and older property, to make way for this one. Construction took around a year and a half, Ms. McManamon said.

Mr. Suleman could not be reached for comment.

Spanning 8,500-square-foot, the Mediterranean-style home has three kitchens—two inside, one out—an elevator, a pool and spa, a gym, two guest suites, 24-hour security, a 2,000-square-foot rooftop terrace and parking for seven cars.
