The former London home of Sharmini Tiruchelvam, Pablo Picasso’s muse, has been listed for £2.345 million (US$3.153 million).

Ms. Tiruchelvam, a Malaysia-born 1960s socialite, was painted by Picasso and photographed by Sir Cecil Beaton and Lord Snowden. Her home played host to an array of celebrities, including Laurence Olivier, Princess Margaret, Omar Sharif and Elizabeth Taylor, according to a news release from Harrods Estates, which is handling the sale. The listing was first posted earlier this month.

The 1,577-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment is on the raised ground floor of a classic stucco-fronted Grade II-listed building in Sussex Gardens, a street just north of Hyde Park and close to Paddington Station.

"The property is spectacular in every respect: period features, with contemporary touches, with rooms of a scale and proportion rarely seen today and a star studded past," said Robert Cox, sales manager of Harrods Estates.

Since being purchased almost a decade ago, the property— converted from the principal portion of a Victorian house—has been carefully restored. It has an entrance hall with aged, hand-cut beveled glass panels and wooden panelling, high ceilings, Victorian-style wall panelling, large sash windows, carved mantels and original fireplaces.

"It was hugely important to me to retain as many of the property’s period features as possible. In fact, it was the apartment’s history, which was its main draw when I first came across it," said current owner Lorna Notaras, a former fashion PR and head-hunter. "I’m not surprised Sharmini had such legendary parties here, as I’ve found it’s proven to be a super home and space for entertaining."
