Rumors are swirling that future "First Daughter" Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner are going to swap Manhattan’s Upper East Side for Washington, D.C., as the latter readies for an advisory role in the White House—as long as nepotism rules don’t thwart the plans.

A spokesperson for Ms. Trump didn’t respond to immediate request for confirmation about the reported move. We nevertheless have rounded some potential family-friendly homes for the couple.

Georgetown

TTR SOTHEBY'S INTERNATIONAL REALTY

Price: $9.99 million

Bedrooms: 6

With six bedrooms, this modern townhouse in the heart of Georgetown is certainly big enough for the couple and their three children (Arabella, Joseph and Theodore) as well as a nanny or two. It boasts a top-floor master suite with skylights, his-and-her large walk-in closets, a media room and a garden terrace with a heated pool. The couple, who are Orthodox Jews, would also be close to Kesher Israel synagogue.

"For a more quintessential Washingtonian experience, Georgetown, Kalorama and Capitol Hill offer historic charm, stately homes and are home to many of the political class past and present," said Steve Centrella, an agent for Redfin in D.C.

Georgetown

TTR SOTHEBY'S INTERNATIONAL REALTY

Price: $7.75 million

Bedrooms: 9

If they want to be in Georgetown, but fancy something more traditional, this historic nine-bedroom home, built in 1797 with brick imported from England, may be the ticket. It has an interesting history and has passed through the hands of many influential residents of the Georgetown neighborhood, including the late Senator Claiborne Pell.

Boasting 14-foot ceilings, the recently renovated home, is great for entertaining, while more serious get-togethers and meetings meetings could be held in the library, the design of which was inspired by George Washington’s Mount Vernon. It was originally listed for $11 million in 2014, but the price has been chopped several times since.

Kalorama

TTR SOTHEBY'S INTERNATIONAL REALTY

Price: $5.75 million

Bedrooms: 6

Kalorama is another upmarket neighborhood close to the White House. This stately 1930s house would be perfect for entertaining the dignitaries the couple would no doubt host with its grand entrance foyer, a maple-paneled library, a formal dining room, an entertaining terrace, a garden and a rooftop deck with 360-degree views of Washington.

They may, however, bump into President Obama, who is reportedly moving to the neighborhood as he waits for his youngest daughter, Sasha, to finish school.

Potomac

LONG & FOSTER REAL ESTATE

Price: $1.99 million

Bedrooms: 7

If Ms. Trump and Mr. Kushner want more space and privacy, they might want to think about the Maryland suburbs of Silver Spring, Rockville and Potomac. In Potomac, this 7,405-square-foot estate set on two acres of land has seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, a ballroom, a tennis court, a bar and club room, a five-car garage and is only a 30-minute drive  from the White House.

Not that money is an issue for the privileged couple, but at just under $2 million, it’s much cheaper than its Georgetown and Kalorama counterparts. This also represents a discount from its listing price of $2.35 million in August.
