A townhouse in London’s Notting Hill neighborhood was listed on Wednesday for £7.95 million (US$11.2 million).

At nearly 4,000 square feet, the townhome has seven bedrooms, three bathrooms and a separate shower room.

The house also has a double reception room, an updated kitchen, a study, a utility room, a portico balcony and a private garden.

Although the house has been modernized, it still retains period details such as hardwood floors, fireplaces and a stone staircase.

The property is within walking distance of three underground stations, including Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove and Holland Park.

The owners, an Australian couple with two children, have lived in the house for seven years, according to Keith Rigby, director of the Notting Hill office of Bective Leslie Marsh, the realty group handling the listing. The family is returning to Australia, he said.

According to Mr. Rigby, what makes the townhome distinct is its access to the desirable street’s lush community garden. "It’s the kind of garden we would all love to have in central London," he said.

In addition to the green space available for children to play, Mr. Rigby said that the area’s excellent schools make the neighborhood appealing for families with young children.

The house is located less than a five-minute walk from Notting Hill’s main drag, Portobello Road, which is known for its trendy shops and restaurants, as well as its famous antiques market.
