An English manor house that once belonged to the late actor Oliver Reed, is headed to auction at the end of the month with a guide price of between £2.6 million (US$3.5 million) and £2.8 million (US$3.77 million).
After being on the market for several years, the Grade II-listed property in Surrey, known as Okewood Hill Estate, will go under the hammer on May 31, with London-based auction house Allsop.

Set on the almost 12-acre estate is a main six-bedroom house, a two-bedroom cottage, a garage with a staff apartment, and stables, according to the auction catalog.
The main house has a swimming pool, a gym and a home cinema. Outside there is a Koi pond, a lake and a helipad.
The guide price is a steep discount from the £12.5 million (US$16.83 million) it was listed for in 2011. Most recently, the house was asking £3.5 million (US$4.7 million), listing records show.
Mansion Global could not determine when Reed lived at the estate—then known as Pinkhurst—though reports suggest it was during the 1970s.
Reed was best known for "Oliver!" (1968) and "Gladiator," which he was filming when he died in 1999 at age 61.

Okewood Hill Estate "has all of the facilities befitting its status as a trophy and former celebrity home— from separate staff accommodation through to stabling," said Richard Adamson, partner and auctioneer at Allsop, in an email. "The property is likely to be popular among potential buyers that fall in love with this unique mix of English country manor and Hollywood-style glamour."
Mansion Global could not determine the current owner of the home.
