Canadian billionaire Daryl Katz has listed his Vancouver penthouse for C$38 million (US$30.6 million).

The owner of the Edmonton Oilers hockey team and founder of Katz Group Companies, and his wife, Renee Gouin, bought Penthouse 2 at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel and condominium the year the building opened in 2010, court records show.

The four-bedroom duplex is one of two units at the top of the 48-floor hotel in Vancouver’s ritzy Golden Mile neighborhood.

The home spans roughly 6,700 square feet plus an additional 2,900 square feet of outdoor space, including a large deck and rooftop terrace, according to the listing with agent Malcolm Hasman, who did not immediately return request for comment.

Images of the contemporary interiors show an open floor plan with massive glass walls overlooking Vancouver and the bay. The foyer opens into a great room and open kitchen with a steel-frame staircase leading to the second level.

The master bedroom on the second floor includes an expansive window-lined walk-in closet that Mr. Katz has partially converted into an isolated office with phenomenal views, images of the home show.

In-home amenities also include a gym and media room, according to floor plans.

In 2012, Mr. Katz and his wife sued a construction company they hired to renovate when its workers allegedly set off a fire by leaning a mattress against a gas fireplace, destroying a $1 million security system, electronics, area rugs and furniture, according to the lawsuit.

Mr. Katz did not immediately return request for comment.

The listing was first reported by The Edmonton Journal.
