Veteran DJ Danny Tenaglia is selling a three-bedroom Miami condo as the dance music producer looks to spend more time in his hometown of New York.
Mr. Tenaglia, 57, who’s spent the past four decades holding residencies at nightclubs from Manhattan to Ibiza, Spain, is selling the modern, renovated apartment with panoramic views over Miami Beach and Biscayne Bay for $1.6 million, according to Compass, which is listing the home. The listing, located in the Upper East Side neighborhood, an area of coastal mainland Miami north of downtown, is set to hit the market next week.

The disc jockey bought the Miami condo in 2004 for $600,000, property records show, and has since remodeled the space, which features light hardwood floors and sleek modern finishes.
The Miami residence has served as Mr. Tenaglia’s refuge, which he’s filled with contemporary and abstract art, including a two-panel floor-to-ceiling portrait of President Barack Obama that he bought a decade ago from a local Miami muralist, he told Mansion Global.
One of his most valuable works is an angel printed on a FedEx box by mixed-media artist Purvis Young, who died in 2010.
Over the years, he’s filled the home with modern furniture he picked up at New York City galleries, including a collection of contemporary light fixtures from Artemide in SoHo, and decorative Murano glass he bought directly from the factory while on tour in Venice, Italy.

"It’s nothing like Reniors or Picassos, but a lot of personal things that make it charming in its own way," he said, though his favorite thing to look at is the view outside of his windows.
From his kitchen island, he can see out across north Miami and the barrier islands all the way to Sunny Isles, 10 miles away, he said. "The view is just so spectacular."
For over a decade now, Mr. Tenaglia has kept two homes, this Miami condo, and a nightclub-sized, 6,000-square-foot loft in Queens, New York, in addition to traveling up to eight months out of the year. He’s now looking to downsize, and buy somewhere in the New York City metro area, he said.
"It’s become a bit much to handle both cities," he said. "If I have to chose between New York and Miami, I’m going to buy a home in New York."
The apartment has an open floor plan, which Mr. Tenaglia expanded by opening a wall to one of the bedrooms. But that could easily be sealed back up into a third bedroom with some drywall, said listing agent George Schechter of Compass Florida.
The vibes from the 22nd-floor unit have helped Mr. Tenaglia, who earned a Grammy nomination in 2002 for his remix of Depeche Mode's "I Feel Loved," to get in the groove. He's prepared sets and occasionally recorded music from the apartment.

In the agent’s opinion, one of the coolest parts of the home is the building itself, Palm Bay Towers, an iconic development from the 1970s featuring sweeping curved balconies and built directly into the bay.
The building offer residents a pool, gym, tennis court and boat slip, where rental prices go for about half the typical market rate, Mr. Schechter said.
The agent compared the neighborhood to Manhattan’s Lower East Side, an area that decades ago had a rougher reputation and has since come roaring back. The neighborhood now includes the trendy MiMo district lined in art galleries and restaurants.
