"Curb Your Enthusiasm" actor and comedian Richard Lewis’s longtime home in Hollywood Hills is no longer on the market.

The three-story Laurel Canyon villa, which Mr. Lewis had owned for almost three decades, first came on the market last November for $1.559 million. Less than two weeks later, he cut the price by more than 10% to $1.399 million, according to the listing history.

Perhaps the discount coupled with the "celebrity effect" did the trick. By early December, the property went into contract and has now been removed from the Multiple Listing Service.

If the sale price is close to what he asked, Mr. Lewis could potentially make a decent profit from the property, which public records show that  he paid $720,000 for in 1989. The sale has price has not been made public yet.

Built in 1926, the 2,508-square-foot Mediterranean-style house has also been home to "Green Acres" star Eddie Albert, as well as a handful of screenwriters and directors over the years, according to the listing.

The house features an open-air living room with a full wet bar, a spacious formal dining room and an eat-in kitchen on the ground floor. On its so-called "penthouse level," is a full master suite with city views. There is a two-car garage as well extra off-street parking space on the premises.

Listing agent Peter Maurice of Rodeo Realty, as well as representatives for Mr. Lewis, weren’t immediately available to comment on the sale.
