"He has equipment like a front-loader [tractor], ATV, and stuff in there. If a new owner wants to do any of that, he would love to tell them all about it."
Fruit trees including Espaliered Gala Apple, Honeycrisp Apple and Asian Pear, and blueberry bushes and grape vines grow on the grounds.
Design Pedigree
The architecture, by Semple Brown Design, is in tune with its natural surroundings. For instance, the Pawnee Buff Sandstone walls and IPE wood siding continue on both the inside and outside of steel-frame glass windows and doors, establishing a visual foundation for an inside-outside lifestyle. Two Nana doors can vanish into a wall to create a 16-foot opening between the kitchen and the screened porch, which is roughly the same size as the dining room.
To allow for passive solar heat in the winter, but not in the summer, the team designed power-controlled clerestory windows. The house is powered by thermal and photovoltaic solar systems.

Talking Point
Farmland and over 1,000 acres of Open Space (land designated that’s protected by the City of Boulder from development) surrounds the 15.3-acre property. It is three miles southeast of the Boulder Country Club. The property is only a few minutes by car or bike to Boulder, which itself is in direct proximity to the mountains.
