Actor Chris Noth, best known for playing Mr. Big on "Sex and the City," is moving closer to Central Park, where his character and Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, took a famous horse-drawn carriage ride.

He has purchased a cozy two-bedroom, two-bathroom co-op apartment on East 66 Street, a short walk away from Central Park, for $1.85 million, according to property records filed Friday.

Mr. Noth, 62, who also had major roles on TV shows "The Good Wife" and "Law and Order," owns an apartment in downtown Manhattan.

The newhome was listed in February for $1.875 million by The Corcoran Group and went into contract in March. Corcoran previously listed it for $1.999 million in 2015, according to listing records.

The listing describes the fully renovated home as featuring "a flowing layout that accommodates a perfect balance for entertaining and living." Original pre-war details, including beamed ceilings, crown moldings, herringbone floors and a wood-burning fireplace, are well preserved.

High ceilings and oversized windows make the apartment feel bright and airy. The bedroom wing is separated from the entertaining space. A spacious staff room with a full bathroom is currently set up as a home office, according to the listing.

The building, constructed in 1918 and converted into a co-operative in 1929, spans nine floors, with two apartments on each floor.

Listing agents Ileana Lopez-Balboa and Deanna Kory of Corcoran, as well as reps for Mr. Noth didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
