Biscayne Bay House in ‘Miami Vice’ Movie Renting for $75,000

A mega-mansion in Key Biscayne, Florida, that was featured in the 2006 action movie "Miami Vice" is now a seasonal rental asking $75,000 a month.

The five-bedroom mansion on the Mashta Peninsula in Biscayne Bay went up for sale in September for $39 million. The owners, Aurelio and Berta Fernandez, shaved $5 million off the asking price last month and are now offering up the home to well-heeled renters looking for a seasonal rental, according to listing records. The owners could not immediately be reached for comment.

"Miami Vice" co-stars Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell spent a week or so filming at the 9,620-square-foot mansion designed by luxury architect Charles Pawley, the owners told The Wall Street Journal last year.

The property has a 70-foot concrete dock with room for a yacht up to 100 feet and boasts the privacy of a gated and secluded cul-de-sac, according to the rental listing with Brigitte de Langeron of Fortune International Realty. Ms. de Langeron did not immediately return requests for comment.

If a lovestruck renter decides to turn his holiday long-term, the house, a tropical-style mansion clad in Saturnia marble, is still listed for sale for $34 million with One Sotheby’s International Realty.

The property has 480 feet of waterfront and views over Bill Baggs Florida State Park and Stiltsville, a group of wood stilt houses floating over Biscayne Bay dating back to the 1930s.

There are two master bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms, a covered gazebo, pool and large outdoor terraces.

The contemporary interiors include modern interpretations of coffered ceilings, large window-lined walls that take advantage of the ocean vistas and even an indoor garden patch separating the living and dining areas.
