The 22-room apartment had been owned by Robert Ellsworth, a noted Asian art dealer who died in 2014. Masahiro Hashiguchi, the executor of Ellsworth’s estate—and his former live-in chef—was the apartment’s seller, records show.

The expansive co-op includes four bedrooms, five bathrooms, several fireplaces, a library and eight maid’s rooms, according to the listing.

The 12-story building, built in 1927, has long been home to prominent residents. According to the Real Deal, which first reported the sale to Mr. Pérez Dávila, Egyptian construction magnate Nassef Sawiris bought a penthouse in the building from financier Edgar Bronfman for $70 million in 2014.

Mr. Perez Davila and Mr. Hashiguchi could not immediately be reached for comment.
