A trophy property in the harborside neighborhood of Rose Bay, Sydney, owned by billionaire retailer Brett Blundy has sold after more than two years on the market, according to property records.

The three-story, 18,300-square-foot house was listed in February 2016 for A$45 million, but was later raised to A$47 million before it was sold in April this year, property records.

Listing agent Brad Pillinger of an eponymous brokerage firm declined to comment on the sales price and the parties involved in the transaction, which remains undisclosed in public records.

The residence on Bayview Hill Road has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, open plan living, dining and entertaining areas, a gym, a pool with spa, as well as separate guest quarters and an eight-car parking space.

Surrounded by gardens, the timber, glass and stone home features soaring ceilings, smart home technology, and panoramic views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House and the Central Business District, according to a previous listing.

"We’re impressed how private, well-built and intimate the gun barrel view right up the harbour directly to the Bridge is," Mr. Pillinger said.

Mr. Blundy, 58, founder of BB Retail Capital, whose investments include the Australian jewelry store chain Diva, lingerie brand Bras N Things, tourist attraction BridgeClimb and TK Sanity Entertainment Group, bought the newly built house in 2013 from technology entrepreneur Neill Miller.

The deal was closed in 2016 for A$32 million (US$24 million). Mr. Blundy, who has a net worth of US$1.35 billion by Forbes’s estimates and was ranked the 37th richest Australian in 2017, listed it for A$45 million a few weeks later.

He couldn’t be reached for comment.

The sale was one of the most expensive in Sydney. The property next door, a former home to casino billionaire James Packer, was sold for A$70 million in 2015.
