Ali Wentworth, George Stephanopoulos Sell Hamptons Estate After Two Months

Actress Ali Wentworth and ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos have found a buyer for their secluded Hamptons estate.

The traditional, shingle-style mansion surrounded by hedges went into contract, asking $5.995 million, last Tuesday, only a few months after the couple relisted the Southampton property.

The 4,800-square-foot home was built in 2005 and features a mix of modern amenities and classic Hamptons architectural details, including a large covered veranda at the back of the house.

It has five bedrooms, a 1,000-bottle wine cellar, personal gym, media room and wet bar. Outside, the 1.5-acre lot encompasses a pool, tennis court and open lawn.

Ms. Wentworth and Mr. Stephanopoulos have two daughters and they’ve clearly had some influence on the home’s more whimsical details. There’s a dream sleepover space with four built-in bunk beds.

The sunny, double-height living room includes a built-in library wall billed as "befitting the media luminary for whom it was designed and built," according to the listing with Ann Ciardullo and Keith Green of Sotheby’s International Realty. The agency declined to comment.

The family have owned the home since 2013, when records show Ms. Wentworth, 53, bought the estate for $4.5 million. She plays a starring role in the comedy series "Nightcap," which she created for cable network Pop. Her husband, Mr. Stephanopoulos, 57, is chief anchor and political correspondent for ABC News and a co-host on "Good Morning America."

This is the second time the couple have marketed their Hamptons retreat. They listed the home for $1 million more, at $6.995 million, for a few months in 2016 and then took the listing down.

Reps for Ms. Wentworth and Mr. Stephanopoulos did not immediately return a request for comment.
