Singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette is selling her longtime home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles for $5.495 million.
Ms. Morissette, 43, has owned the seven-bedroom Mediterranean-style mansion for more than 20 years, buying it through a private trust for $1.795 million in 1996, property records show.

The Canadian rock singer, who rose to fame in the 1990s for her album "Jagged Little Pill," has remodeled the house over the years with craftsman details, such as built-in bookshelves, stone fireplaces, and exposed wood ceilings, according to the listing with Joseph Babajian of Rodeo Realty. The Los Angeles Times first reported the listing.
Now an avid blogger who also posts snippets from her life and favorite things on Instagram, Ms. Morissette has showed off her taste in bright, ethnic decor—buddha statues, Oriental rugs and sound therapy instruments. She filled the house with eclectic furnishings, including a yoga and meditation room with a wall of essential oils, Ms. Morissette told Women’s Health magazine in an 2015 interview.
A gated entry and private driveway lead to the front of the home, which sits on about two-thirds of an acre. An interior, second-floor balcony looks over the spacious main living room and its a soaring double-height ceiling.
A large, three-room master bedroom has enough space for a connected nursery or private office in addition to two bathrooms. Outside, the estate has a pool and patio with views over the city and surrounding hills, according to the listing.

But if you want a tour of Ms. Morissette’s unique style, in the words of the singer herself: You’re uninvited.
Marketing images of the 5,152-square-foot mansion show the home, which she shared with her husband, Mario "Souleye" Treadway, and two children, has already been repainted, staged and stripped of the singer’s colorful decor.
It’s not surprising the star is advertising the home on North Tigertail Road without her things. In February, robbers broke in and reportedly stole a safe containing $2 million worth of jewelry and valuables when the family was not at home, The Los Angeles Times reported at the time.
A publicist for Ms. Morissette did not immediately return a request for comment.
