Location: London, United Kingdom

Price: £6,950,000  (US$8.96 million)

This Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse in Central London’s Connaught Square sits just across the square from former Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife, Cherie.

That means that the square is particularly safe and secure, said Martin Bikhit, managing director of Kay & Co, which has the listing.  "The square is regularly monitored for safety and security with at least four police on patrol daily," he said.

"Grade II means that it’s a house that has a particular historic interest so you can’t change the exterior of the property without permission and there may be certain interior parts that may also be of historic interest," Mr. Bikhit said. These townhouses in Connaught Square date to the 1820s.

The renovated five-level townhouse is fully turnkey, with iconic furniture pieces throughout the five-level home included in the price. Many of the pieces date to the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s and were created by world-renowned furniture designers including Harvey Probber, Milo Baughman, Dorothy Draper, Karl Springer, Ralph Lauren, C Jeré and Jene Curtis.

"I love that it has views across the park," Mr. Bikhit said. "It’s situated in the center of the square, where there are fewer trees so you have more natural light in the house."

"And I like the fact that the owners have not gone ultra-modern with their restoration so it retains its period charm," he said.

Original architectural details include the mouldings and cornicings, an ornate balcony, working fireplaces and original sash windows.

A spacious entrance hall leads to a dining area and kitchen, complete with marble worktops, a breakfast bar and access to a private rear terrace. The reception room features generous ceiling heights and views of Connaught Square. A stylish study with a private terrace sits behind it.

The grand master bedroom suite takes up one of the upper floors, complete with a fully fitted walk-in wardrobe and a striking marble bathroom. Another floor features three generous bedroom suites and a separate bathroom.

The Stats

The 3,595-square-foot townhouse has six bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one partial bathroom.

Amenities

The lower ground floor features a study, reminiscent of the "Mad Men" era, and a private terrace. It has its own entrance and "would lend itself quite nicely as a guest suite, or if you have staff, or for a teenage son or daughter," Mr. Bikhit said. "It has a quite versatile layout."

There is also a state-of-the-art gym on one of the upper floors.

Neighborhood Notes

"It’s in an area called Connaught Village, which has a nice villagey mix of boutique retail and restaurant offerings – no chain stores there," Mr. Bikhit said. "It’s just north of Hyde Park, so you literally can be in the park in three minutes."

Marble Arch and Paddington stations are within 0.3 miles and 0.6 miles of the property respectively.
