This home in the Laurentian Mountains, just north of Montreal, is an outdoor oasis—a log cabin, built of cedar sourced from the area, that melds seamlessly into its locale.

In the winter, the town of Mont-Tremblant is a snowy wonderland, the 3,000-foot-high Mont Tremblant its crown jewel. Its ski slopes are consistently ranked among the best in the world, and its quaint village with cobbled streets and colorful facades teems with world-class dining and nightlife.

During the summer, the area thaws to present a playground of pristine lakes and rivers. This is when hikers, cyclists, and golfers descend upon the town to partake in nature’s bounty.

This estate is in the heart of it all, sitting "above and across from the entire resort, pedestrian village, part of the lake, and the full ski mountain," explained listing agent Michel Naud of Engel & Völkers. "It is simply the best view available of the resort. Spectacularly breathtaking any time, day or night." And when viewed from the slopes, "this home looks more like a Ritz-Carlton nestled in the mountain than a private estate."

The Stats

The 7,050-square-foot home sits on just over one-and-a-half acres of land. Five bedrooms and five full bathrooms make up the living quarters, while two half-baths service visitors and overnight guests. The home was "originally built in 1999, but was renovated extensively and expanded in 2012," Mr. Naud said. "A new 2,000-square-foot wing was seamlessly integrated into the existing architecture and features the elaborate master quarters. The lower level of the addition is dominated by an oversized three-car garage."

Amenities

"The main floor features a dramatic four-sided stone fireplace, a new professional grade kitchen with custom cabinetry and the finest appliances, a climate-controlled wine cellar, and a huge living room with cathedral log ceilings," Mr. Naud said of the interiors. Each of the bedrooms open into an extensive deck, which spans the entire rear facade of the home and affords views of the resort village, mountain, and lake.

"The lower level provides interior access to several outdoor entertainment areas, including a pool area with waterfall and two Jacuzzis. You’ll also find a cabana bath, a dumbwaiter, and a large mud room, with heated floors," Mr. Naud added.

Neighborhood Notes

"Now only 12 multi-million dollar homes are able to call St. Andrews home. This enclave is possibly the most coveted address in Tremblant," Mr. Naud said. "Located above the famous Le Géant golf course, it is within easy walking distance of the pedestrian resort village and ski trails. The neighborhood is also serviced by a free shuttle service."
