Location: London

Price: £6 million (US$7.9 million)

For prospective buyers looking to kick up their heels in London, this three-bedroom duplex apartment on Onslow Square comes complete with a private ballroom.

The ballroom was originally open to the residents of Onslow Square, which was completed in 1865, according to the listing.

But the building that housed the ballroom (which was likely completed in the late 19th-century) was damaged beyond repair by a bomb during World War II. During the rebuilding process, the ballroom (which survived intact) was absorbed by a new development of apartments and retained within this one.

Now used as a drawing room, the ballroom can be cleared of furniture and used as a unique entertaining space.

"It’s unlike anything else in the city," said listing agent Hermione Russell of Russell Simpson. "The ballroom has retained the majority of its original features, including polished hard oak flooring, and there is a stage at the back that would have been for the orchestra. The pitched skylight in its ceiling is also an original feature."

The property is also quite private for the area—it has no neighbors above or to the sides, so it is extremely quiet.

"The raised, ground-floor master bedroom has unobstructed views and direct access into the private garden," Ms. Russell said. "It’s also a beautifully interior designed space with silver leaf ceiling and chandeliers."

Ms. Russell said it "would also be perfect for pied-a-terre purchasers who are location driven and would benefit from the property’s live-in caretaker."
