Price: $5.599 million

Located on Rainbow Row, a street with 13 sherbet-colored row homes in Charleston, South Carolina, this pink circa-1780 house has four bedrooms and a separate carriage house. It features a light-filled living room, a master bedroom, four bathrooms and two half bathrooms, a private courtyard and three gardens.

It is one of the largest lots on Rainbow Row, an 18th century line of houses that served as mixed work/live properties servicing the Charleston Port, according to listing agent Debbie Fisher at Handsome Properties. There is a Historic Charleston Preservation Easement on the property’s facade and gardens.

"The current owner is a business woman that bought the property and totally renovated the entire property, including the carriage house, gardens and main structure," Ms. Fisher said.

The historical property has been renovated from top to bottom by the preservation architect Glenn Keyes and preservation contractor Richard "Moby" Marks, the listing says.

The dine-in kitchen is open and spacious with double ovens, a large Wolf gas range, and an island.

The grand master suite has walk-in closets and his-and-hers bathrooms. A fireplace, beamed ceilings and arched doorways make this a quiet and relaxing retreat. A sitting room/guest bedroom can be found on the top floor. And a meandering private walkway from the main house opens into one of the three gardens with an elegant pool.

The rooftop deck can be accessed via the elevator, which opens to every floor. The elevator can take the guests to the rooftop directly from the first floor entry hall for sunset views of the Cooper River, the Ravenel Bridge, and the Peninsula.

The carriage house is separated from the main house and can be sold off or rented. It can be accessed through the covered walkway from the street without ever entering the main home.

With a gourmet kitchen, a sitting room, two fireplaces, a private garden, a bedroom, a powder room, a full bath, and an open study, the carriage house is ideal for hosting family and other guests.

The new owner can also host large events in the carriage house library, with soaring ceilings, exposed wood beams, a fireplace, and French doors on three sides, which provide easy access to the gardens.

"The three separate gardens are magical," Ms. Fisher said.
