A large number of well-known people make their home in Montecito thanks to the privacy it offers. Oprah Winfrey, Jeff Bridges, Drew Barrymore, Patrick Stewart and even Al Gore have all resided in the serene town just two hours away from Los Angeles.

"You’ll end up running into celebrities and you won’t realize that they’re celebrities because they’ll be wearing a baseball cap and throwing a ball to their kid," Ms. Barret said.

Yet, for those who prefer to stay nearby, Ms. Barret and Ms. Sizlo note that both Montecito and Santa Barbara in general have a wide range of cultural activities, dining establishments and shopping centers just within reach of the home.
