A duplex penthouse at the tallest residential tower in London’s West End has hit the market for £55 million (about $70 million).

Dubbed "Number One Centre Point," the 7,223-square-foot penthouse is situated on the top two floors—33rd and 34th— of the Grade II-listed historic building built in 1966 that’s now being transformed into a residential tower by real estate development and investment firm Almacantar.

Through the floor-to-ceiling windows and its 1,688-square-foot wraparound terrace, the penthouse boasts unobstructed panoramic views of London’s landmarks, including Buckingham Palace.

"The apartments at Centre Point are a celebration of everything that makes London a world-class city: its prime location, stunning views, beautiful finishes and adjacency to Crossrail make it a rare and distinguished residential address,"  said Mike Hussey, chief executive of Almacantar. "Number One Centre Point is the crown jewel of this landmark building. It will never be repeated."

The West End, already home to more than 30 museums and 40 theaters,  is experiencing a new phase of rejuvenation, including the construction of a new high-speed train, Crossrail, which is set to open this year.

The 82-unit building offers a 30-meter (98-foot) swimming pool, a spa, gym and lounge area, a screening room and a meeting room. Pricing for other apartments starts at £1.825 million ($2.34 million).

Almacantar acquired the building, which was originally reserved for offices, in 2011. The refurbishing is slated for completion this fall.

In addition to Centre Point, the developer has also commissioned world-renowned architect Rafael Vinoly to design and build a mixed-use tower, Marble Arch Place, next to London’s famous Hyde Park. Set to  be completed in 2020, it will offer 54 luxury residences.
